Welcome ICLW! Thanks for stopping by. A little about me--I'm a 40's something (eek!) working gal, transplanted from the west coast to the midwest. Hubster and I are in the process of adopting a child from South Korea. While waiting for baby to get here, we love working on our mid-century home, cooking, running, and hanging with our four-legged baby, Argus. If you really want to get to know me, here's a few posts to give you a leg up.

We made our first baby purchase! No, not something soft and squishy for baby to snuggle with. No, not something practical like a stroller or a crib. Instead, we got our little munchkin something near and dear to our hearts--vintage mid-century modern furniture.
Our 1955 ranch home is like a step back in time. Nearly every piece of furniture in the place is from the 1950-60's era, most of it Danish modern styled. We covet designers like Charles & Ray Eames, Paul McCobb, Finn Juhl, Jens Risom, Harry Bertoia, and Arne Jacobsen.
So when we saw these adorable little Thonet chairs on Ebay, we were total suckers. Argus modeled the chairs for us, and he isn't sure what all the fuss is about.
Now to start clearing out the guest bedroom and making way for this stuff!
Here's a few other pix that were too cute to leave out.
Argus is SO adorable! Those pics are great.

Great pics of Argus on the chairs. I also think it's incredibly cool that your first baby purchase isn't something typical. I hope your adoption journey goes smoothly.

Just stopping in from ICLW and your blog title reminded me of a Young Adult book that was on our Sunshine State Readers list here in Florida last year. The title is "Kimchi and Calamari" and it's a book about a Korean boy who was adopted by Italian parents, and his struggles to understand his identity. It's definitely very "middle school," but since it relates to your situation, you might be interested in reading it! (if you haven't already.) Sorry, I'm a Reading teacher - book recommendations are my life!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics!! Cute dog and awesome chairs!!
ReplyDeleteYes, that little dog is a world class model!
