Friday Flotsam: 10.7.2011

Dear Little Man,

You woke up early again today. It seems to be your habit lately. Mommy sure wishes you would sleep in a little later than 5 a.m.! You woke up happy, of course. It's rare that you don't start out the day by giggling and laughing in your crib. It's a nice sound to wake up to and even though I would love another hour of sleep, I can't help but smile when I hear you in there.

Did you know today is your 15-month birthday? Well, it is, and it's hard to believe how quickly time is passing! Last night Daddy and I looked at videos from when you first came home. We gasped when we saw footage of you first learning to walk. We've gotten so used to watching you run everywhere now that we've already forgotten your "monster walk"---legs and arms outspread as you took giant, unsteady steps. That used to entertain us for hours.

Could you please slow down on the growing up?? We are still getting used to the idea of having a baby and now you are already launching yourself into toddlerhood. Mommy's head is spinning.

Your first week at day care has went pretty well. I hear from your teachers how snuggly you are and how you want to sit with them all day. (I'm a little jealous!) We know that's because you still are feeling a bit nervous, so we're glad they are giving you the snuggles that will make you feel more secure. They said you are doing great with the other kids and are surprised at how much you eat!

This has been a big change for all of us this week. You've handled it like a champ and we're very proud of you.

But I've missed you bunches. Can't wait to spend time together this weekend. Maybe I'll even steal a few snuggles!

Love you,

Mommy
