Versatile Blogger

Oh goodness me. How is it that I started this post way back at the beginning of Oct and I still haven't put it up? Very bad manners since I was a lucky enough girl to get this fun blogging award. Hopefully the super awesome ladies who shared it with me will forgive me and not take it back!

First there is Sue at all accounted for (previously Three and Counting). You might remember Sue from THIS post--I'm not sure how she's finding enough time to blog while she's juggling being the mom of two boys. Hop on over to her blog and see how the family is doing (they are doing great!) and check out all the cute photos she's been posting. Those boys are heartbreakers!

And, super lucky me, Christy at 3 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed and Michelle from Waiting for Wesley who also shared a little blog love. Christy's dossier went to Korea a few months ago and we are all waiting for her referral. Her blog shares stories about her children and family life as they wait to bring home their third child.

Michelle and her husband Brian are no longer "waiting" for Wesley...they brought him home in August! They are all settling in very well and I love checking out the blog to see how everyone is coping. AND...we share a love of mid century furniture. (Sneak at peek at Wesley's nursery HERE!) A gal after my own heart.

So here's rules for the award:
  • Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
  • Share 7 things about yourself.
  • Pass the award along to 7 other bloggers who you recently discovered and think are fabulous.
  • Contact the bloggers you chose and let them know about the award
1. I love lists. Seriously. I like to make lists just so I can feel the satisfaction of crossing things off of them. Warped.

2. I brush my teeth with hot water.

3. Gymnastics has played a huge part of my life. My mom enrolled me in gymnastics/dancing when I was two or three years old. My sister and I were tiny and seemed to be made for the sport. When Mom became a single mother, she scrimped and saved to keep us in lessons although she really couldn't afford it. She couldn't have known then, that her commitment to keeping me in gymnastics was paving the way for my future. After competing in dance and gymnastics for years, I began teaching gymnastics at age 15. At 17, I passed my judging exams and was the youngest certified judge in the state. At 19, I purchased the gym I coached at and operated it successfully. The proceeds from the sale of that gym paid for my college education. I continued coaching and judging until I retired in 2005 after teaching for 22 years.

4. I talk in my sleep. A lot. Not just mumbling either. I've woken myself up, realizing all that shouting was coming from my mouth, and waiving my arms around in front of my face. While I find my behavior a bit annoying, The Man finds it pretty amusing. His favorite episodes are when I coach gymnastics in my sleep, complete with clapping and giving instructions on how to stay on the beam.

5. The Man does all the laundry in the house. He's much better at it. I'm woman enough to admit this.

6. I once totalled my car by hitting a cow. I swear, it leapt onto the roadway like it had a death wish or something. I was 16. Totally scary. It led to a long period where I had strange driving incidents, all my fault of course. In the next few years: I hit a tree in the McDonalds drive-thru, took out the side of our garage, backed into my grandparents' car, plowed into the telephone company building where my mom worked (no Mom, I never told you about that one), struck a high school friend in a crosswalk (no Mom, I didn't tell you about that one either), ummmm....I think that's about it.

7. I love woodpeckers.

OK. Now for the hard part. Picking 7 people to pass this on to---I'm really bad at that. To be honest, this is the reason that I haven't put up this post for over a month. It's too hard to choose! Here's a few of the lovely bloggers that I'd like to learn more about:

Pcos chick at His and Her Infertility, Just Like the Towels.
Theresa at Conspicuous Family.
I don't know her name, but the blogger at An Aussie's Adoption Dream.
Christine at Our Answered Prayer...Life With Joel.
Kristen at I Spy A Family.
Emily at this family squish.
Yvonne Korean American Family.
